About My Work

All of my work is focused around guiding you to accessing your own authentic, inner SELF, which is alive with abundant, infinite creativity.
Why do I write the word "SELF" in all caps? Because from the perspective of
Internal Family Systems (IFS), the SELF is the
"core, positive essence of who you are."
IFS (or Parts Work) has a main tenet that says that every one of us
has a unique, whole, untraumatized essence inside ourselves
that we are all born with. This SELF is the source of our innate
qualities such as curiosity, compassion,
courage, and, of course, creativity.
Whether I'm using the tool of an inward IFS dialogue session or that of journaling or meditation or energy work, my goal is to help you access your SELF and also be able to distinguish when you have accessed
SELF-energy and when you haven't.
In a safe space with me guiding you, I give you the tools to notice
when you're stuck and to heal those parts of you
that are still in resistance to creating the life you feel called to live.
I act as a coach and a guide to help you learn to listen
to your own inner wisdom. Then you are able to
make decisions and create from your authentic SELF.
You are able to connect more fully with your authentic creative voice and express your own creativity with much more freedom.
I want for all of my clients that you be "SELF-led" -
meaning you live life, build relationships, pursue creativity and
joy, and make decisions from this place within, called SELF.
Finally, my mission is to teach you to be SELF-led on your own.
Part of my work is to give away my techniques so that you
don't need me forever. You will have access to creating your own
wholehearted life*
whether I continue to personally guide you or not.
It is my intention that after working with me,
you will have the tools to live from your own authentic SELF.
More About Parts Work
Better known as "Parts Work", Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a healing modality that helps you stay centered while pinpointing stuck areas in your life and bringing balance to those areas.
The IFS method was discovered and created by Dr. Richard Schwartz, LMFT, and allows you, through guided visualization processes, to get to know the inner "parts" (thoughts & emotions) of yourself that are distracting you or confusing you or causing disruption in your life. In fact, some of these Parts may have been doing all of these things in your life for years.
In Parts Work, we treat these parts with compassion and in doing so, our parts finally start to relax and trust our core SELF to lead our lives.
We then connect more and more with our own authentic,
very real sense of presence and patience and purpose.
If you are interested in learning more about IFS on your own, a great place to start is Dr. Jay Earley's book Self Therapy: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Wholeness Using IFS, A Cutting-Edge Psychotherapy.
*The term "wholehearted life" comes from researcher, professor, author, and public speaker Brene Brown, see https://brenebrown.com/art/ten-guideposts-for-wholehearted-living-3/
